LED Seven 1.0 Install and Troubleshooting Guide

This guide is for our LED Seven 1.0 which features a removable H11 Bulb

This guide is for our LED Seven 1.0 which features a removable H11 Bulb

This guide covers installation of the LED Seven 1.0 headlights with removable bulb design. These earlier-generation lamps use either a diode harness or adapter-based wiring and may require polarity adjustment depending on the vehicle. Follow the steps below for proper installation and setup.

Overview — Harness Types for LED Seven 1.0

Identify which harness you have and follow the instructions below:

Diode Harness — Part Number H11H4AD-HL

Diode Harness — Part Number H11H4AD-HL

Used on earlier LED Seven 1.0 systems. In some vehicles, the diode polarity may need to be flipped for proper high/low beam function.

  • If beams operate backwards or do not turn on, reverse diode orientation.
  • Confirm red/black polarity alignment before troubleshooting further.

PCU Harness — Part Number H11H4AD-HLS

PCU Harness — Part Number H11H4AD-HLS

Used on earlier LED Seven 1.0 systems. The Power Control Unit (PCU) adapter automatically regulated polarity and would switch back and fourth. This part has since been discontinued.

  • No adjustment is necessary with this harness.

Step 1 - Connect the Main Headlight Plug

Step 1 - Connect the Main Headlight Plug

Plug the included H4 adapter into your vehicle’s original headlight socket.

Step 2 - Connect Your Harness (PCU)

Step 2 - Connect Your Harness (PCU)

Connect the H11 socket to your LED bulb. This connection is polarity sensitive. Use the polarity markings on the bulb as a guide. If it is plugged in backwards, the bulb will not turn on, but it will not be damaged.

Step 2 - Connect Your Harness (Diode)

Step 2 - Connect Your Harness (Diode)

Connect the H11 socket to your LED bulb. This connection is polarity sensitive. Use the polarity markings on the bulb as a guide. If it is plugged in backwards, the bulb will not turn on, but it will not be damaged.

Step 2.5 - Diode Harness Only

Step 2.5 - Diode Harness Only

If you are using the diode harness, some vehicles require the diode direction to be flipped for high and low beam to work correctly. If a beam is not working, disconnect the diode section, flip it so red matches red and black matches black, reconnect, and retest. If the issue continues, recheck all connections and contact support.

Step 3 - Remove the Existing Headlight

Step 3 - Remove the Existing Headlight

Remove your current sealed beam or headlight assembly. Set the trim ring and mounting hardware aside.

Step 4 - Install the LED Seven 1.0

Step 4 - Install the LED Seven 1.0

Place the LED Seven 1.0 into the headlight bucket with TOP facing up. Make sure it sits flat and centered.

Step 5 – Secure the Headlight

Reinstall the trim ring and mounting hardware. Tighten the screws evenly until the trim ring is fully seated, and do not exceed15 in lb (1.7 N m)to avoid cracking the glass.

Step 6 - Check Low and High Beam Functionality

Make sure your vehicle battery is fully charged, then switch the headlights on. Verify both low and high beam operation. Low beam should produce a flat, horizontal cutoff. High beam should create a larger stepped pattern that projects above the low beam cutoff.

30W HIGH BEAM

Step 7: - Halo Wiring

If your headlights have halos, please refer to our Halo Wiring and Install Guide for detailed instructions.

Step 8: - Aiming Headlights

Aim your headlights using our Aiming Guide to ensure proper cutoff height and alignment. Follow the instructions in the guide to adjust your factory bucket until the cutoff is level and centered.

Troubleshooting

Electrical and Power

My LED Seven 1.0 will not turn on. What is the first thing to check?

Check the H11 connection first. The H11 plug is polarity sensitive, so if it is flipped the light will not turn on. Unplug it, flip it, plug it back in, and test again.

How do I confirm I installed it correctly before fully reassembling everything?

With a fully charged battery, turn the headlights on and verify low beam and high beam operation. Low beam should have a flat horizontal cutoff, and high beam should project above that cutoff.

If I plug the H11 connector in backwards, will it damage anything?

No. Incorrect polarity will simply prevent the bulb from turning on. Flip the connector and retest.

Do I need a relay harness for LED Seven 1.0?

No. LED Seven 1.0 draws less than 2 amps, so a relay harness is not needed. If you have electrical issues, they are typically caused by wiring, grounds, or connectors on the vehicle side.

Fitment and Installation

Will LED Seven 1.0 fit my 7 inch headlight bucket?

The front fitment is 7 inch and it will seat into the bucket opening. LED Seven 1.0 is approximately 5 inches deep, so the rear of the lamp may contact nearby structures like a radiator support or inner fender depending on the vehicle.

What if the lamp hits something behind the bucket?

If the interference is minor, we offer 3D printed spacers that push the lamp outward slightly. If you need significantly more clearance, LED Seven 2.0 is much shorter at approximately 3.5 inches deep and fits more applications.

Why does my beam pattern look wrong after installation?

The most common cause is incorrect orientation. Make sure the headlight is installed with “TOP” at the top and the bucket is clocked correctly. Incorrect clocking will rotate the cutoff and reduce visibility.

Frequently asked question

Can I overtighten the trim ring?

Yes. Do not overtighten the trim ring onto the glass. Excess pressure can crack the glass, especially during rapid or extreme temperature changes.

Can I install the buckets in the wrong position?

Yes. Headlight buckets can be confusing and it is possible to install them in the wrong slots or with the wrong clocking. If the headlight does not sit flat or the beam pattern looks rotated, recheck bucket orientation before troubleshooting anything else.

Moisture and Water Exposure

Is condensation inside the lens normal?

A small amount of condensation can be normal, especially during extreme weather changes. Headlights need to breathe, so brief fogging can occur and typically clears when the lamp warms up.

How do I clear condensation?

Run the headlights for one to two hours to fully warm the assembly and evaporate moisture. Contact us if condensation does not go away after a week.

Can I wash the headlights?

Avoid directing high pressure water streams at the lamps. While they are designed for normal weather exposure, direct water spray is not recommended.

Halos

Where do I find halo wiring instructions?

Use the dedicated Halo Installation Guide page for the most current wiring instructions. That guide is updated as halo options change.

Can I install halos without a driver?

Very few of our halos are meant to be installed without a driver.

Do not install halos without drivers unless the instructions explicitly say a driver is not required.

Installing halos without the proper driver can permanently damage the halo and is not covered under warranty.

Glass Damage, Warranty, and Support

My glass is cracked or broken. What do I do?

Stop using the headlight and contact us for the next step. LED Seven 1.0 glass must be repaired at our facility.

Do you offer a glass replacement option for LED Seven 1.0?

Yes. We offer a glass replacement program for a small fee, and we reuse your existing components to keep costs reasonable. Contact us for this program.

LED Seven 2.0 uses replaceable glass that can be swapped by the customer.

What warranty comes with LED Seven headlights?

All of our headlamps include a 5 year warranty. Warranty coverage and exclusions are detailed on our Warranty and Returns page.

What is not covered under warranty?

Glass damage is not covered. Electrical issues caused by improper use or installation are not covered, and we do not accept returns or exchanges on lights that have been modified. Refer to the terms on our Warranty and Returns page for full details.
